Parlour at the Point

Stripe was delighted to design a local hair stylist’s new salon on the East Side of Santa Cruz. The design strikes a true balance between utilitarian and glamorous, with no superfluous bells and whistles.  All of the finishes are entirely practical to suit their purpose, from the Carrara marble countertops to the bespoke central floating station, which is double-sided and incorporates product and styling storage.

The palette of white, concrete and marble is punctuated with warm brass accents in the signage, drawer pulls, mirror frames, and lighting fixtures. The real nod to femininity in the space is the hand-painted mural which envelopes the salon’s name and is reminiscent of the owner’s predilection for tattoo artistry.
