Adobe Kitchen
Redesigning a new kitchen fit for the oldest home in Santa Cruz was a real privilege.. We wanted to be cognizant of the history of the home; the walls of the original structure are 7” thick and made of adobe. Luckily, the kitchen was located in a later addition, so there was no disruption to the historic structure. When selecting materials for the project we ensured that they felt appropriate; we used natural materials throughout including limestone floors and marble countertops. Not to mention a sink shipped back from Greece by the clients themselves on a recent vacation! The subtle green cabinetry and brass hardware creates a calm backdrop for this household which bustles with a multi generational family and two large dogs.
